Peer Pedersen Recognized with Lifetime Achievement Award
The University of Illinois' College of Law has recognized Peer Pedersen posthumously with its first ever Lifetime Achievement Award. This award honors alumni who have "distinguished themselves as pillars of the legal community" through their professional careers, personal accomplishments and contributions to the College of Law and the community in general.
Mr. Pedersen received his B.S. from the University of Illinois in 1947 and LL.B. from the College of Law in 1948.
Mr. Pedersen was a strong supporter of the University of Illinois for many years and the school had previously honored Mr. Pedersen with various recognitions and awards, including:
- the naming of the Peer and Sarah Pedersen Pavilion at the University of Illinois
- the William E. Winter Award for Outstanding Advocate Leadership from the University of Illinois Foundation
- a Loyalty Award from the University of Illinois Alumni Association
- a Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of Law
